DCist has some bad news today for fans of actors with blogs. We reported last week that Hollywood handsome Matthew McConaughey (Seen in this MTV photo) was traveling the country via Airstream trailer and keeping a blog to chronicle his adventures.
Well, so far the blog is living up to its title, “Stream of Consciousness”, but we are disappointed to learn that the actor blew by our little city without so much as stopping to fill up on a tank of gas. The McConaughey blog had this to say today:
Went by the president’s house. The flag was up, so he was in there. But I’m on a pretty tight schedule with what I got going, ya know, and he is too. So we didn’t really stop in and spend any time together in D.C.
That hurts, Matt. That you couldn’t even swing by to say hello? The actor moved right along to Andrews Air Force Base, where he met with soldiers and had this to say:
It was just a real reality check as far as what the troops are doing, and at least 10 guys and girls that have just returned from Iraq, every one of them had either lost a limb, had, you know, stuff on their shoulders, a hook for a hand, or in a wheelchair, and they were young. Man, they were young. Like 19, 20, 21, 22 … And all of them really had an attitude of ‘Hey, I’m just taking it a day at a time.’ They were back and they were going, ‘Yeah, it sucked and I wish I hadn’t lost a limb.’
Stream of consciousness, indeed.
