Given that there was such a controversy the last time we posted anything about early ticket sales in the D.C. area (to recap: a few people thought these sales should be on a “need-to-know” basis for “real fans”; we thought that was silly), we were perhaps a bit hesistant to spread the word about the latest hot ticket in town. But considering a lot of people we think of as “real fans” of Bloc Party didn’t get tickets to their recent show at the Black Cat, we couldn’t stay quiet after a loyal reader tipped us off last night: Bloc Party is coming to the 9:30 Club on June 16th, and tickets go on sale this morning at 10 a.m. We heard they put on one hell of a show last time around, so snap up some tickets – we certainly will.
In other music notes, you can check out The DCeiver for a list of other shows going on sale. The Pixies have also just announced a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion (not a favorite venue of ours), and tickets for the Modest Mouse performance at D.A.R. will apparently go on sale 4/16 on Ticketmaster (UPDATE: we haven’t been able to confirm this information through an official outlet, and apologize for posting it prematurely). So, real fans: go forth, purchase, and prosper.
