Yesterday on the afternoon drive home, self-anointed “Radio Gods” Don & Mike went on an extended rant about the state of Infinity Radio now that the reign of current “King of All Media” Howard Stern is nearing its end. In six months, Howard leaves the FCC-controlled confines of terrestrial radio for Sirius Satellite, an unsurprising move considering the increasing restrictions placed on him by an increasingly prurient post-Nipplegate media market. With Howard’s departure, Infinity owned WJFK loses a ratings juggernaut. And since the station knew about Howard’s Sirius move since October, Don & Mike expressed legitimate frustration: they still don’t know who will get the morning slot. But are they the right fit for the morning drive?
