The Gothamist family is excited to announce two new sites today: Phillyist and Shanghaiist. Shanghaiist is the first Gothamist site in Asia. Aside from one site still in development, these cities will round out our growth for the time being.
Phillyist is ably headed by John Carroll, and is the first Gothamist site to feature a bell in their logo, which we’re pretty excited about. We are looking forward to getting to know the city better from their site. They have started things off with some chocolate chip cookies, a post on the Nationals recent victory over Philly, and an interview with a local chef.
Meanwhile we think the Shanghai site, edited by Dan Washburn, has a really rad logo. They’ve kicked things off with posts about ‘Maojamens’, skateboarding over the Great Wall, and a hip-hop dance competition. We think the site looks great, and look forward to watching the site grow as they fill out their staff.
