Even Shadow Senator Paul Strauss had a car in the parade. And a classic one, to boot.

When we noticed some flyers around the Logan Circle and Shaw neighborhoods recently with the Borf head, we wondered: could Borf be back? Yet our sources assured us he’s staying out of the limelight, and these Borf tags were a little different — they weren’t graffiti but instead flyers apparently inspired by the briefly infamous graffiti artist.

One of the flyers includes the saying “widespread vandalism should be expected” (why? where? it’s a bit unclear to us), another claims to define a “borfism” with the saying “there are reasons we don’t say ‘just adulting.'” Another we didn’t snag a photo of had the enigmatic phrase “droppin’ science on ya’ll crab-asses” with an illustration of gorillas. The flyers are also suspiciously located near the Brian MacKenzie Infoshop, although of course those truely responsible are unknown to us.

Is this destined to be the next major Borf-trend, a lame spin-off of the same sort we’ve come to expect of our favorite television series? We think not. The person(s) responsible haven’t been nearly as persistant as the creator.
