We know what you’re thinking – you have absolutely no idea what to wear to the DCist happy hour tonight (plug, plug). While all we ask is that you wear your drinking shoes, we understand if your work attire feels a little too corporate for Cue Bar, or if you feel intimidated by the bastion of cool that is the DCist staff.

Before heading to the happy hour, banish your fashion insecurities tonight at the first U Street Shopper Social of 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. Millennium Decorative Arts and Nana are celebrating their respective grand re-openings at 1528 U St. NW. To celebrate the occasion, Nana owner Jackie Flanagan’s grandmother, the Nana is even flying in from Boston to hand out Hobo “make-over” bags to the first 25 people who spend more than $75.

Junction also will be offering deals, including 15% off all non-sale items, 15% off coats and blazers, 20% off formal dresses and 40% off gloves. Also, check out Shopper Social newbies Moojoo Ken, Shador Couture and Homegrown Creations, as well as favorites Wild Women Wear Red, Meeps, Carbon, Pink November and Habitat.

And if the sales and treats are not reason enough to stop by, the Boston Globe yesterday called the area between 14th and U Street a “corridor of hip,” and highlighted several Shopper Social participants, as well as area newcomer G Books. Not that we needed anyone to tell us that.
