Is it Girl Scout Cookie season yet? I just got this powerful craving for some Thin Mints and those peanut butter ones (what do they call them?) and have no clue where to go to buy them. Where in D.C. are people (legitimately) selling Girl Scout Cookies?
We hear you, sister. And those peanut butter ones you mentioned? They’re called Tagalongs®, and they are without a doubt my favorite Girl Scout Cookie variety, though the ever-popular Thin Mints and Shortbread Trefoils (pictured) are pretty magically delicious, too.
Luckily for you, the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital is only too willing to provide the answers:
From February 10 until April 1, cookies will be sold at our Council Headquarters at 4301 Connecticut Ave NW on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 – 4:00 and on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 – 8:00. We are offering eight great flavors; Thin Mints, Samoas, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Tagalongs, All Abouts, Lemon Coolers and Cafe Cookies. Boxes sell for $3.50 and all proceeds stay right here in the Nation’s Capital council.

Thanks, Laura! So only 16 more days before the official start of Cookie Season. We can hardly contain our artery-clogged excitement. Of course, you can always order your cookies in advance from a local Girl Scout, and many DCists have reported seeing (and filling out) order forms around our respsective offices. Amazingly, you still can’t order them online (if I remember from my days as a Brownie, in-person sales techniques apparently boost a Scout’s self-esteem). But you can also call 1-800-523-7898 from January 29 to April 1 if a local Girl Scout does not stop by your home, or all of your co-workers are 23-year-old wunderkinds without any offspring, and find out where the closest booth sales effort will be in your neighborhood (the kind in front of grocery stores, etc.).
