Welcome to the newest DCist feature, Photo of the Day. We’re often inundated (and impressed) with all the photos that are sent to the DCist feed on Flickr, but many of the shots go unnoticed unless you have time to kill and are willing to scroll through a few pages of photos. So consider this a way for us to highlight some of our favorites. Each weekday we’ll pick a new photo to highlight on the site.

All you need to submit photos for consideration is a Flickr account. You can either tag your photos with “DCist” or join the DCist Photos group and add them to the pool that way. But we only want your best work, so three photos per person per day please.
