The big day finally arrives, in more ways then one. It’s Election Day and the Santos and Vinick campaigns are tense, tense, tense. The show opens with some pre-credit flirting between Josh and Donna. After the credits, we’re treated to a shot of Josh and Donna in bed, together, presumably post-coital. I’m a long time Josh/Donna shipper but the scene was more than I wanted to see. There’s some mild awkwardness between the two, but it’s pretty cute. No one seems to be able to sleep on Team Santos, and soon staffers are running around trying to stay busy, waiting for the results. Team Vinick is equally restless, pacing around their campaign HQ, as well.
Before long, exit polls start coming and it looks like Santos is winning by a very, very small margin. Lou has her writers prepare a speech for every possible election outcome, Josh yells at his staffers for no good reason while Donna tries to calm him down. The Congressman, for his part, takes a really long nap (after a roll in the sack with his wife) and wonders what he’ll do tomorrow. The Foo Fighters show up to play the post-election party, and we’re treated to some nice shots of Dave Grohl. The polls start to close in the east and both campaigns go into overdrive with worry.
Unfortunately, we don’t know who wins just yet. As a few states are called, Annabeth goes to Leo’s room only to find him passed out and unresponsive. We end with Annabeth yelling for help and the Secret Service rushing into the room. It’s pretty horrible.
So, what do you think will happen next week? Are Josh and Donna a couple, or was it just a random hook-up? Who do you think is going to win?
