Well, it’s been an exciting day in the world of advocacy for Darfur. Earlier today, five Democratic members of the House of Representatives were arrested during a protest at the Embassy of Sudan.

The arrestees — Reps. Tom Lantos of California, James McGovern and John Olver of Massachusetts, James Moran of Virginia, and Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas — are sure to bring attention to this Sunday’s rally on the National Mall to push the Bush administration to more aggressively confront the on-going genocide in the Darfur province of the Sudan.

We’ll be there to snap some pictures and gather some testimony from demonstrators.
