Confession time. We haven’t yet watched the second to last episode of the West Wing. Give us a break, it’s May sweeps and our DVR is a cruel and demanding mistress right now. Through chatter around the Internet though, we’ve been able to cull some facts and plot points.
Boiled down, it seems like CJ and Danny will be living happily ever after (which is awesome, cause CJ and Danny are awesome together) and Will Bailey and Kay might soon be enjoying the rainy weather of the Pacific North East. Readers who have actually seen the episode can submit their own reviews/synopses in the comments section, which would be much appreciated. We’ll updated the post to include the best and funniest mini-recap.
As you all know, the series finale airs this Sunday night on NBC at 8pm. The episode was supposed to air after an hour long retrospective of the shows highlights, but the actors, sensing that this may be the last time to milk NBC, refused to participate unless they were offered more money.
Several news accounts say the actors — no one is named — refused to take part in a retrospective unless they were paid more than what was on the table to sit and reminisce about the Emmy-winning series, which ends Sunday. Such appearances aren’t covered in the actors’ contracts for the show; Variety notes that some in the cast could command as much as $200,000 per hour.
In its place, the network will re-run the original pilot episode, which will allow us to only see how far the show has come (or fallen) since then, but also, laugh at CJ’s season 1 hair.
