We apologize in advance for what’s sure to be one of those self-indulgent posts that can irk folks around these parts. But we’re just too damn effusive and needed to post our congratulations. DCist Ryan, our fabulous editor, got himself hitched to a lovely lady on Friday and we couldn’t be happier for the couple.

For the slightly-relevant-but-still-a-stretch D.C. content, well, you couldn’t have found a more district-y wedding if you tried. Who else but a DCist editor would throw a wedding at a former president’s house, where the official DCist theme song was on the playlist and the cake was actually a tiered arrangement of those always-provocative confections, cupcakes from Cakelove? (I hate to admit it because in the past I’ve taken a firm stance on the cupcakes as mediocre, but it seems that when you let them sit out and the icing soften, the cupcakes really are delicious. Darn.)

Anyways, Ryan and his wife are off on their honeymoon and hopefully avoiding the internet, so we have at least a week before he comes back and kills us for writing this. But all of us here are so thrilled for him we just had to share it with the DCist community. Congrats!
