If you’re one to wait until the last minute to do something, then congratulations — you’ve done it again.
The District’s voter registry closes today at 5 p.m., meaning that if you haven’t registered yet or made changes in your address or party affiliation, you have until, well, 5 p.m. to do so in order to vote in the September 12 primaries (which, all told, are basically the elections that decide the contests; the November election is merely a formality). If you fill out your application today and drop it in the mail, you’re ok — just make sure it’s postmarked today.
And yes, before anyone jumps on us, we are fully aware of the irony of us waiting until the last minute to berate everyone else for waiting until the last minute.
