This might just be our opinion, but we always thought it was poor form to run your employment options by a guy hosting an online chat. Especially, it should be noted, if the potential employer might end up READING THE CHAT. From today’s session with Mark Plotkin over at the Post:
Downtown: Howdy Mark. I got a career question for you: I’m a recent grad and have been offered a job working for a guy that’s a new addition to the D.C. Council. The pay is pretty poor, but the job sounds real neat. And the guy seems like a smart and honest non-politician. My question is: do I take this job and eat noodles for the next few years? Or do I look for work in the private sector?
Mark Plotkin: Since you say it’s a “he” it must be harry Thomas Jr. or Tommy Wells. I’d like to know how much they are paying and suggest you do it anyway.
Here’s to hoping the job offer is still on the table.
