The sun is out, the ice is receding and life in D.C. is returning to normal. So why is there still trash rotting on the corners? Yesterday’s garbage-related post prompted comments complaining about the city’s malingering trash service such as BrodyV’s:

Apparently I ought to work for the garbage crew in order to maximize my snow days— my trash hasn’t been picked up in over 2 weeks. I guarantee that there’s more than one truckload in the alley.

DCist commenters aren’t the only ones complaining — there’s been some griping on the Adams Morgan Yahoo Group as well, with some going so far as to recall the bad old days of the Barry administration’s winter storm responses.

We emailed DPW but haven’t heard anything back. For my part, my street has been pleasantly — even surprisingly — clear of trash, despite being iced over and strewn about by wind. But it sounds like the Capitol Hill and Adams Morgan neighborhoods, at least, aren’t as lucky.

What about it, DCist commentariat? How does your curb look?
