I was hoping to find a good picture of a bustling Eastern Market in reverence of the landmark’s vitality and importance to the community, but my mood and the expressions in this photo by dangerbird matched too closely to pass this one up. The young woman’s serious face and the man in the hallway’s look of despair captures how a lot of Hill residents–and people from all over the region–felt this morning. DCist looks forward to a quick rebuilding of Eastern Market, and urge everyone to support its vendors in the meantime.
