>> Music junkies raised in an era of candy-coated pop or Seattle-based indie should check out a screening of The Day The Country Died: A History of Anarcho-Punk 1980-1984 at the Black Cat tonight. The flick features rare performances caught on tape before the era of ubiquitous personal video recorders, along with interviews from artists and activists. $5, 9 p.m.

>> DC Rap invades the Velvet Lounge with another edition of Hell is for Heroes.

>> It’s going to be tough to score a ticket to tonight’s Al Gore appearance at GW’s Lisner Auditorium if the craigslist queries are any indication. Our favorite: “I really want to see AL GORE!! Can you help me out pleezze! i will buy you dinner-hold your hand during the event (if you are a guy) I am a cute gal!! C’mon!! pleezzee-I will be your best friend for life!” Al Gore: helping dudes score chicks since 2006. The former Vice President will speak about his new book, The Assault on Reason, at 6 p.m.

>> Like we mentioned in the Music Agenda, the Vita Ruins need your support for their gig at DC9 tonight. They play with Philadephia’s Grammar Debate, only $8.
