The folks at the Rock and Roll Hotel sure know how to get us interested in something. They sent out an email last night saying tickets will go on sale July 20th for a “blog favorite” band who will be playing two nights at H Street venue. The email added “Hint: The name of the band is has something to do with applauding and a greeting.” While “Yeah” isn’t really a greeting, our guess is that it’s Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, who are the definition of a blog favorite band.

And our guess was confirmed by blogger Brooklyn Vegan, who lists the two shows as November 17 and 18.

We’d certainly like to see the Brooklynites (and Phillyite) in a smaller venue like the Hotel. They released their second album, “Some Loud Thunder” earlier this year. They haven’t stopped in D.C. supporting it yet, though the first time they came to our city, this particular blog wasn’t all that fond of their live performance.

Anybody excited for this somewhat unusual two night stand? Or have Clap Your Hands clapped the shark?
