City Paper really needs to pay employees more
This blog post from City Paper’s Jessica Gould seems to imply that perhaps City Paper is not paying its employees quite enough. Recalling The Simpsons episode, “Lisa Gets an A”, Gould discusses going to Whole Foods with the purpose of compiling a lunch entirely from the free samples. As she went for a sample, one of the employees “caught her in the act.” I’m all about the free samples, but seriously. If you’re going to play, play to win. Or at least pretend you’re going to buy something.

Better than trick or treating
Jason Andelman of Artisan Confections in Arlington will be holding an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday. This includes free tastings of some of his new confections. Fleur de sel caramels and fresh mint chocolates sound incredibly yummy. And you won’t even need a costume.

Taco Tuesday
You can thank Jacoby Ellsbury, center fielder for the Red Sox, for your free taco. Going with the Steal a Base Steal a Taco promotion, Taco Bell will be giving out free hard shell beef tacos on Tuesday, October 30 from 2-5 p.m. Hopefully you can cut out of work to grab one, since they conveniently decided to schedule it after lunch time. And of course, this entire giveaway presupposes anyone would want to eat a Taco Bell taco, free or not, in the first place.
