Have you followed Eddie Argos’ instructions and formed a band? Have you been looking, but just not finding, the perfect way to celebrate Hannukah this year? Are you free on December 8? The Eight, a concert presented by JDub Records, and Taglit-birthright Israel, is a worldwide Hannukah party happening simultaneously in 9 cities: D.C., New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Rio and Moscow. JDub, home to bands such as Balkan Beat Box, Golem, and SoCalled, is looking for a local band to open this year’s show, which takes place on December 8 at the historic 6th and I Synagogue and features The LeeVees and Deleon. Submission instructions from the JDub website are as follows:

Do you think your band has what it takes to open the night in DC? Submit band name, contact person, phone number, email address, myspace link, and a one paragraph bio to info@jdubrecords.org. Taglit-birthright israel alumni will select their favorite submission to open the show.

So come on, D.C. bands! Represent your city in this global menorah-fest. JDub is looking for as many submissions as possible so they can have a wide selection of music from which to choose. Plus, it’s sure to be a fun gig in a great room.
