This is exactly what we love about our Flickr contributors. DC Jeff brings us this photo of a tree in Logan Circle that probably hundreds of people walk past every day without a second thought, but gives it to us in this unique view, surrounded by fish eye distorted rowhouses, that asks us to look at each of our neighborhoods in a whole new light.

If you’re new to Flickr, you might want to browse through the many pools featuring aspects of the D.C. metro area. There’s the neighborhoody groups like 14th and U, Capitol Hill, or Clarendon; or subject matter pools like DC @ Night, DC Pedestrians, or DC Street Photography. And those are just a few of probably close to a hundred related groups for our local photogs, most with lively discussions about techniques, the occasional desperate IT question and of course, our rights. If you belong to a group you’d think folks would be interested in, leave a link in the comments or on the DCist Flickr discussion board.
