Large plumes of black smoke are still visible above Jimmy’s Tire Shop on the 1200 block of K Street NE, where firefighters continue to work to control a three-alarm blaze. The Associated Press reports that the fire broke out close to 2 p.m. and that a D.C. fire department spokesperson has said it will take some time before the flames are out.
