
>> The folks who bring you the annual SILVERDOCS documentary festival are presenting a special screening of Shahar Cohen’s Souvenirs, winner of last year’s audience award, at 7 p.m. The director documents a trip he and his father took to the Netherlands to discover if the elder Cohen had left behind any secret offspring while he was stationed there during WWII. At the AFI Silver Theatre.
>> Stephin Merritt die-hards, take note: Rob Pierangeli (formerly of the Hard Tomorrows) and one-time DCist contributing graphic artist Holly Tegeler are performing a set entirely composed of Magnetic Fields covers at Iota, under the name Umbrellas in London. It’s part of the Federal Reserve Collective’s monthly first Monday show, which will also feature Peter and the Wolf and Nat Baldwin. 8 p.m., $5.
>> Corcoran director Paul Greenhalgh will interview art historian John Richardson in a special discussion about Pablo Picasso’s art and life. Richardson has a new book out, A Life of Picasso: The Triumphant Years, 1917-1932, and he’ll also be signing copies. At the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s Hammer Auditorium, 6:30 p.m., $25, $20 for members.
>> We’re big fans of pub trivia, and the upstairs at the Wonderland Ballroom is certainly one of the best places to plop down with a beer and see how little you really know. Weekly Monday night trivia starts promptly at 7:30, though we recommend getting there by 6:45 at the latest to make sure you have a place to sit. First prize is typically a $100 bar tab, with $20 for second and $10 for third.
