MUSIC: Marginally sane Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes is giving you a chance relive your favorite psychedelic rock moments from the ‘80s and ‘90s at the Rock and Roll Hotel, where he’ll be joined by the School of Rock All-Stars, aka the Paul Green School of Rock’s most promising young musicians. $15, 8:30 p.m.

DANCE: Japan’s most famous butoh company, Sankai Juku, will perform one of their most famous works, Kinkan Shonen (“Kumquat Seed”). The large-scale production explores a young boy’s dream of the origins of life and death. Part of the Japan! Culture + Hyperculture series at the Kennedy Center. $15-$55, 7:30 p.m.

POLITICS: Busboys and Poets on U Street is hosting a Potomac Primary watching party starting at 6 p.m. Take advantage of drink specials and results on four large screens at what will surely be an Obama victory celebration as well. Open-mic starts at 8 p.m. for those with something to say.

*MUSIC: Tickets are still available to catch experimental L.A. group Liars at the 9:30 Club. Hopefully Angus Andrew’s bum back will allow him to rock out tonight. With No Age. $15.

COMEDY: The DC Improv Comedy School hosts one of its Graduation Showcase nights, featuring new comedic talent fresh out of their 4-week comedy bootcamp. It won’t all be brilliant, but perhaps you’ll discover one of tomorrow’s comedy stars? $10, 8 p.m.
