Australian author Steve Toltz will be at Olsson’s in Dupont Circle to read from and sign copies of his debut book, A Fraction of the Whole — the story of a son recollecting the outrageous and shocking events that led up to his father’s death. 7 p.m.

Award-winning author Mira Kamdar, a 2008 Bernard Schwartz Fellow at the Asia Society in New York and a Senior Fellow at the World Policy Institute, will be at the Penn Quarter Olsson’s to discuss her latest work, Planet India: The Turbulent Rise of the Largest Democracy and the Future of Our World. 7 p.m.
Doctor, writer and all-around guru Deepak Chopra will be at Politics and Prose to talk about Jesus, his teachings and what they mean for the mind and body — the subject of his latest book, The Third Jesus. 7 p.m.
