MOVIE: The Black Cat hosts a special screening of Capital of Punk, a collection of ten short documentaries that attempt to chronicle the history of D.C.’s influential hardcore scene of the late 1970s and early ’80s. Free, in the Backstage, showings at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.

CLASSICAL: The Verdehr Trio (violin, clarinet, and piano) will give a free concert tonight at the Embassy of Austria (3524 International Ct. NW). All you need to do is RSVP (202-895-6776 or rsvp@austria.org).

ECLIPSE: Tonight’s total lunar eclipse may end up being a bit of a bust thanks to the winter storm currently hanging out in the metro area, but it’s a rare enough event (the next one won’t come around until December 2010) that it’s still worth trying to catch a glimpse from a choice spot with a clear view of the sky.

DANCE: The preeminent Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater began its short run at the Kennedy Center’s Opera House last night. Tonight’s performance includes their standard bearer piece, Revelations, along with Firebird, The Golden Section, and Reflections in D. $30-$85, 7:30 p.m.

GEEKS: It’s time for another exciting installment of the Washington DC Drupal Meetup! If you don’t know what Drupal is, you’re not a big enough nerd to attend. At the Affinity Lab, located in Adams Morgan right above The Diner, from 7 to 9 p.m.
