MONDAY
>> When we think of Atlanta music, the first thing that comes to mind is the rap of Outkast and Ludacris. But the ATL is sending a little Monday night metal our way in the form of Zoroaster. They’re playing the Red & the Black for just $7.

>> Wax Fang has toured with Spoon and My Morning Jacket, which is appropriate because they sound like a fairly exact combination of the two. Catch this trio from Louisville tonight at DC9. $8, 9 p.m.

TUESDAY
>> Barton Carroll of Crooked Little Fingers is playing the Red & the Black with local singer/songwriter Dave Ihmels. $8

>> Petrona Martinez is a Colombian singer whose raw, chanted vocals blend well with her band’s funky Afro-Latino percussion. They will be appearing for free at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage at 6 p.m.

>> If you didn’t score tickets to see Wilco (pictured) on one of their two nights at the 9:30 Club a long, long time ago, chances are you’re out of luck. But the visit from Tweedy & Co. is definitely the biggest draw of the week. If you’re feeling particularly sad about missing out, you have two choices: listen in on NPR’s amazing All Songs Considered, or catch Wilco on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
