Over at DCist central, we’re pretty excited that the calendar has flipped over to March. Soon enough, there will be sunnier skies, warmer temperatures, and, of course, baseball. Yes, spring fever is in the air – no more evident by the whopping comment piles that heaped up at the end of each post this week. Two threads topped out at over 80 comments, and there were many, many posts that passed the 40-comment barrier. As a result, we’re happy to bring you the busy bee version of What’s That You Say this week.

This week’s comment of the week comes from hungeegirl – after the federal government’s rejection of D.C.’s state quarter submissions, she suggested a design with less national appeal and more District insider jokery:

How about…
“excuse me, is that your bag?” with a big ugly purse in the center.
optional: have that big ugly purse be taking up an entire seat during rush hour.

The responses to this post were so numerous and funny, it would be a travesty not to highlight one, two, or six of them; this week, we’ll be peppering them in between our usual roundup after the jump. We highly suggest you balance this week’s mostly serious commenting with a full read of the quips in that thread.

After the jump, we’ve got a post that hit the magic number of 100 comments, and way too many other good contributions for you to ignore.
