There’s good news: DCist is already one of the leading teams as far as recruiting volunteers and fundraising for this year’s Servathon. But we need five more volunteers by Sunday, March 16, to get our team name printed on our shirts for free. (Don’t you want a Team DCist shirt to wear to the gym? You know you do.)
This year’s Servathon will take place on May 3. Team DCist will head to a yet-to-be-determined school and assist in a project such as painting, landscaping, or anything to improve the physical grounds of the building. There’s a $20 registration fee that covers supplies, snacks and the T-shirt, and Servathon hopes you’ll collect a few donations from friends and family, as well. In fact, we’re almost a quarter of the way towards our goal of $4000 already. (And the always altruistic goal of beating all our competitors while we’re at it.)
Afterwards they’ll host an after-party with free food and beer. That’s right — free beer. Not that we believe in bribes or anything. Click over to our Team DCist web site to sign up.
