We’ve talked about WMATA’s proposal to make big changes to the popular 30 buses before. The current plan would eliminate the 30, 34, and 35 routes, and add two express routes, a 37 and 39, which would make 10 stops instead of the current 27. It would also establish a new route, M5, to operate over the current 34 line between the Naylor Road and Eastern Market Metro stations, a #31 route to operate over the current 30-36 routes between the Friendship Heights and Foggy Bottom-GWU stations. Well if you’re a regular 30 bus rider, you’ll want to be aware of two public hearings scheduled this week that will give you a chance to give Metro officials feedback on their proposal.

WMATA has scheduled the first hearing for tonight at the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church (4201 Albemarle St. NW). The second hearing will be held Wednesday, March 19 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (2800 Pennsylvania Ave. SE). Both hearings will start with an open house at 6:30 p.m., and begin at 7 p.m.
