TRIVIA: Feeling competitive? Wonderland’s weekly trivia night is one of the most challenging in the city. If you’re up for it, field a team and be there before it starts at 7:30 p.m..

JAZZ: The Blue Monday series presents great traditional blues every Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. for just $5. Tonight’s show features guitarist Tom Newman.

OPERA: The Washington National Opera is back, this week opening the production of Verdi’s Rigoletto opens (be sure to read our full review). This is an excellent opera for a first-time opera-goer, with some famous melodies, but be prepared to be depressed.

CHERRY BLOSSOMS: As part of the Cherry Blossom festival, Madame Tussauds is hosting an origami demonstration and tea sampling event every evening this week. It’s a bit pricey, but maybe you can fold your cash into the shape of a swan for a discount. $25 adults/$14 children. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

READING: Annie Griffiths Belt, one of the first women hired as a staff photographer at National Geographic, will speak at National Geographic’s Grosvenor Auditorium about her new book, A Camera, Two Kids and a Camel. 7:30 p.m.
