What an odd week, eh, commentariat? The beginning of the week started off slowly, due to the predictable Easter travel hangover. The end of the week was mostly spent trying to prepare for the onslaught of tourists and figuring out how to get around over the weekend, with some walking around the Tidal Basin thrown in. Toss in some fairly good weather, and well, the commenting just wasn’t going gangbusters around these parts. That’s not to say that some of you didn’t keep the flame alive — let’s have at it.

Usually we’ll highlight some wacky, standoffish, or long-winded rant as our Comment of the Week, but we’re feeling a little more forward-looking this week. That way, when we go back to highlighting acrimonious tirades regarding public schools or taxis or whatever, no one can ever accuse us of never putting something up on the front page that contributed to the community repartee.

fartynonsense, supplying our good idea, regarding Metro:

What I’d really like to see is the use of LED warning lights to reflect what train is entering the station. It’d be pretty righteous to be walking down an escalator and know from the flashing lights whether it’s an Orange or Blue line train coming at Metro Center. Probably not feasible, but I may as well dream.

Splendid idea, and only a part of the discourse about white and red LEDs inside stations.

And for all you naysayers: if the Nationals’ new clubhouse can have iPod chargers built into each locker, anything is plausible.
