There’s motivator for your spring cleaning waiting for you in Capitol Hill on Wednesday. As part of Dress for Success‘ annual S.O.S. — Send One Suit — Week, Fed Ex Special Delivery will be collecting professional attire and accessories from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. by the Capitol South metro station. You may remember them from previous years; it’s their third time soliciting assistance from the local community. These drives have managed to collect more than 1,000 items for the D.C. Dress for Success store.

Dress for Success aims to help economically disadvantaged women prepare to enter the workforce by providing professional attire, as well as a support network. The organization was founded in New York in 1997, but has since spread its fashionable expertise to countries all over the world. Even P. Diddy has thrown his designing gravitas behind the cause.

If you can’t make it to the Capitol South station tomorrow, dressbarn stores are also accepting donations for Send One Suit every day this week. We count at least 26 locations in the D.C. metro area — check their web site to find the one closest to you.

Remember, your suits should be new or gently used — leave the hole-y stuff at home please. Dress for Success also accepts new or gently used shoes, purses and other accessories.
