Nostalgic for the grunge rock of yore? Laurie Lindeen will be at the Olsson’s in Dupont Circle to talk about her memoir, Petal Pusher: A Rock and Roll Cinderella Story, which looks at her stint in the 80s and 90s as the guitarist for Zuzu’s Petals. 7 p.m.
Chris Meyers Asch, co-founder of the prospective U.S. Public Service Academy, will appear at Politics and Prose to talk about The Senator and the Sharecropper, the stories of two Mississippians, Sen. James O. Eastland and sharecropper Fannie Lou Hamer, and their roles in the struggle for civil rights. 7 p.m.

Math geeks take note: Bulent Atalay will be at National Geographic’s Grosvenor Auditorium to talk about Leonardo Da Vinci and how he applied mathematical concepts to his art, the topic of Atalay’s book, Math and the Mona Lisa: The Art and Science of Leonardo Da Vinci. 7:30 p.m.
Les Standiford, author of Last Train to Paradise: Henry Flagler and the Spectacular Rise and Fall of the Railroad that Crossed an Ocean, will make an appearance at Politics and Prose to discuss his latest book, Washington Burning, the story of the beginning of our fair city. 7 p.m.
