READING: Benjamin Wallace will make an appearance at Politics and Prose to tell the tale of the most expensive bottle of wine ever sold — a 1787 bottle of Chateau Lafite Bordeaux, supposedly once owned by Thomas Jefferson. In The Billionaire’s Vinegar, Wallace tracks the history of the $156,000 bottle of wine. 7 p.m.

MOVIE: The AFI Silver started up its month-long, 2008 Korean Film Festival DC last week, and tonight’s feature is Jung Ji-woo’s 1999 film Happy End, a narrative which tackles the apparently relatively recent phenomenon in Korea of women being an important part of the workforce. The main character is an unemployed banker who is upset and paranoid about his wife having a high-powered career. 9:45 p.m.
