>> Bohemian Caverns once again plays host to an up and coming artist as a part of the Rhythm & Soul series. This week, San Francisco-based musician Jason Jasper will be the featured performer for two shows as he taps into his love of Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. $12 in advance/$15 at the door, 8 & 10 p.m.

>> D.C.’s indie soul scene has a lot of talented acts, and Three Stars alumna Wayna is one of them. Washingtonpost.com’s Rhome Anderson (DJ Stylus) will play the James Lipton role for this edition of “In The Artist’s Studio”, as he’ll interview her about life as an independent artist at Busyboys and Poets‘ D.C. location. $15 in advance, 9 p.m.

Thursday:
>> The weekly “Sound of the City” event will be taking place at Bohemian Caverns, featuring live music and turntablism. $5, 8 p.m.

>> Occupying its slot on the final Friday of the month, Deep Sang‘s “Nightshift” party will be happening at the Rock and Roll Hotel‘s Hotel Bar. Expect some funk, soul, disco and hip-hop to be in the mix. Free, 9:30 p.m.

Saturday:
>> Best known for his love/hate relationship with the bottle, Louis Logic will make an appearance at Carpool in Herndon with J.J. Brown. $10, 7 p.m.

>> Rahsaan Patterson will be performing at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre in Rock Creek Park along with married act Kindred-The Family Soul and Phaze II. $20, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday:
>> Local soulster Raheem DeVaughn has garnered national attention for his Grammy-nominated single, “Woman“. He’ll be joined at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia by Dwele and Chrisette Michelle. $35, 6 p.m.
