Good morning, D.C. Waiter Macs Smith of Annandale won yesterday’s annual Bastille Day waiter’s race, according to WTOP. Sadly, this unidentified guy in Superman underpants doesn’t seem to have gotten any super powers out of his outfit to help him beat Smith. That hardly seems fair.

Another Dead Child Linked to CFSA: Pretty grim: a second baby who was the subject of a neglect case by the District’s Child and Family Services Agency died yesterday. Council member Tommy Wells told the Post that the 4-month-old’s neglect case was part of the Child and Family Services Agency’s “backlog.” News of the death came on the same day of a D.C. Council hearing called to address that backlog and the recent death of a 6-month-old boy.

Metro Opens Doors … to Identity Theft: At the end of the day Monday WMATA sent around word that the agency had accidentally released the Social Security numbers of nearly 4,700 current and former employees on its web site last month. The Post reports that three employees were suspended for up to a month without pay as a result of the mistake. Metro is offering affected employees one year of free credit report monitoring, $25,000 in identity theft insurance and counseling services.
