MONDAY
>> If you haven’t heard them by now, you should; MGMT plays 9:30 Club with the enigmatic openers Violens and Kuroma. Sadly the show has been sold out for weeks, but if you’re independently wealthy you can still go. Look for a crowd composed of everyone from hipsters to Gossip Girl fans. Their big singles, “Time to Pretend” and “Electric Feel”, are sure to have everyone singing along. Doors at 7, MGMT at 10.

>> For the six or seven people out there who have asked me in the past to direct them to more metal offerings, DC9 is hosting Skeletonwitch this evening, who are reportedly “writing some of the catchiest thrash available in the current metal scene.” With Deathhammer and Nihilita. $8/$10, 8:30 p.m.

>> The Extra Golden move to the Black Cat’s backstage from the Birchmere for a special 2-hour set. $12, 9 p.m.

TUESDAY
>> You and your faith should get ready for a very big show from George Michael this evening at the Verizon center. Tickets range from $55 to $250, but money is no object for die hard fans, right? The show starts at 8 p.m.

>> Bottles/Cans have earned their headliner status after countless opening gigs. They’ll be on the Black Cat’s backstage, $8, 9 p.m.

>> Okay, you’ve intrigued us. “Evil twee”? We may just have to hear what that means from The Airborne Toxic Event ourselves. DC9, $8/$10, 8:30 p.m.
