Fishbowl DC released its annual Hottest D.C. Media Types list today. Angela Valdez thinks there are an awful lot of white guys in there. It’s definitely true, but it’s also true that are also an awful lot of white guys who work in media in D.C. and who are vain enough to nominate themselves.

We too would like to see more diversity in newsrooms and on silly online hott-or-not contests, but our main concern at this moment is that no one from DCist has ever been nominated for this contest, including this year. What gives, readers? Have you not seen the staff page photo of our lovely Music Editor Amanda Mattos? Do none of you photogs have appreciation enough for Managing Editor Heather Goss‘s famous mane of gorgeous curly blonde hair? Don’t some of you get ever get a little too excited while anticipating Ian Buckwalter‘s movie recommendations, or Jacarl Melton‘s hip-hop picks? What more do we have to do here, people?

Pictured above is one of this year’s nominees, Rachel Machacek, who is Managing Editor of something called Log Home Living magazine. Rachel seems totally cute in this photo. Rachel is also the managing editor of a publication about building homes made out of logs. So just to recap, the score is Log Home Living: 1, DCist.com: 0.

Voting opens Wednesday. Vote for Rachel Machacek, we guess.
