MUSIC: D.C.’s own Devine Nature are back together and playing two shows tonight as a part of Bohemian Caverns‘ Rhythm & Soul series. $10 in advance/$15, 8 p.m. & 10 p.m.

COMEDY: Neil Hamburger, the comic most famous for being atrociously bad at stand-up, is at the Black Cat tonight with Daiquiri, a parody metal band. $10, 9 p.m.

DANCE: The Rock and Roll Hotel hosts “Not Dead Yet,” a party that urges you to overindulge in free rail drinks from 8 to 9 p.m. (with the purchase of a $6 Jager shot), enjoy various drink specials after that, and dance to grooves from DJ PM and KO Kid. Free, 8 p.m.

READING: New York Times columnist Rob Walker is at Politics and Prose tonight to discuss his new book, Buying in: The Secret Dialogue Between What We Buy and Who We Are. Find out why you think drinking “old school” beer like Natty Bo or PBR makes you feel so good about yourself, and then go home and bang your head against the wall. 7 p.m.

MOVIE: The Library of Congress Mary Pickford Theater is hosting a “surprise” screening tonight at 7 p.m., of a film they’ve never screened before and won’t tell you the name of until you get there. Given their track record of digging up totally bizarre cult movies from Italy and rarely seen prints of ignored sections of American cinema history, we’d say it’s a pretty good bet. Free.
