    facility in the north end of the city
    last weekend.
  • Despite an eventful week at the Olympics, Phillyist focused on local, Philadelphia teams.
  • Seattlest, freshly aware of their “Junior High Readability Level,” implemented a new weekly feature spotlighting a local they’re totes crushing on. First up, a guy they met at the Seattle Tattoo Expo.
  • LAist reported on a protest by bicyclists in Santa Monica who were sick of being harassed by police. What they did was halt traffic for blocks legally.
  • Gothamist is fine with opening doors to air-conditioned stores–the New York City Council passed a bill that will fine stores if they keep their doors open while they are using air-conditioning.
  • Shanghaiist was not amused by the “slanty-eyed Chinese” poses of the Spanish basketball and tennis teams.
  • Londonist revelled in the city’s silly signage.
  • Chicagoist discussed a local graffiti mural and cranky neighbors’ responses to it.
  • DCist was both horrified and excited by the news that Lifetime had picked up a new reality TV show set inside the privileged Georgetown socialite scene.
  • SFist reported on local blogger/photog Thomas Hawk’s physical ejection from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which stirred a heated debate about the rights of photographers.
  • Bostonist saw Kelly
    Clarkson at Fenway Park
    and wondered when she started looking like
    Rachel Ray.
