READING: Daniel Levitin and songwriter and record producer Parthenon Huxley, aka P.Hux, believe they can explain The World in Six Songs — the musical representatives of friendship, joy, comfort, knowledge, religion and love. They’ll be at Politics and Prose for a touchy-feely time at 7 p.m.
MUSIC: Local indie-soul act Zwei are this week’s featured act for two shows at Bohemian Caverns‘ “Rhythm and Soul” series. $10 in advance/$15 at the door, 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
MOVIE: Robert Altman’s McCabe and Mrs. Miller, starring Warren Beatty and Julie Christie, is about a gambler and a whore in the wild wide west and features a score by Leonard Cohen. You can’t go wrong with this special screening at the AFI Silver Theater, part of their Warren Beatty retrospective, at 9:35 p.m.
