Mayor Adrian Fenty has just named four new top appointments to his administration, including the expected announcement that Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Neil Albert will join Metro’s Board of Directors.
Here’s the rundown on this round of appointments:
- Kathy Etemad Hollinger is named Director of the Office of Motion Picture and Television Development, the agency responsible for promoting Washington as a location for film and television production, and for arranging permits for film crews. Hollinger was formerly the head of government relations and public affairs for Comcast.
- Julie Hudman, a current adviser to City Administrator Dan Tangherlini, is named Director of the Department of Health Care Finance.
- Former BET exec and video marketing entrepreneur Gloria Nauden has been named Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
- And then there’s busy bee Neil Albert, who’s now been officially named to the Board of Directors of Washington Metro and Transit Authority. Albert is taking over Emeka Moneme’s spot on the board, who recently left DDOT for a job with Metro. D.C. Wire speculated earlier that Albert might serve as Fenty’s voice on the board concerning his desire to relocate their headquarters to a new facility above the Anacostia Metro station.
