MOVIE: The National Portrait Gallery is hosting a free screening of the noir classic The Maltese Falcon, John Huston’s brilliant detective drama starring Humphrey Bogart in one of his most famous roles. 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30, first come first served.

THEATER: Take the opportunity to snag tickets to tonight’s performance of Studio Theatre’s The Road to Mecca, about which our reviewer said that the “caliber of the cast brings a sense of loftiness to Joy Zinoman’s assured direction of this classic, emotionally-arresting work.” 8 p.m., $34-$45.
