MUSIC: Okkervil River devotees will want to head straight to the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage after work tonight to catch a free performance by Shearwater, a side project of OR’s Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff. 6 p.m.

DEBATE WATCHING: Tonight’s final installment of The Obama and McCain Show begins at 9 p.m. You probably already have a favorite spot picked out to watch, but in case you’re still clueless, our top pick this time around would probably be the Rock and Roll Hotel, where the Wednesday night debate will coincide with their regular Not Dead Yet drunk fest for an excellent drinking game opportunity.

MOVIE: Elia Kazan’s classic film On the Waterfront stars Marlon Brando in one of his most mesmerizing performances, as a former boxer working as a longshoreman on the New York City waterfront. It screens free tonight at 7 p.m. at the National Portrait Gallery‘s McEvoy Auditorium.

MUSIC: Head over to Galaxy Hut after the debate for a free listening party of local band The Cassettes‘s new album. 10 p.m.
