SPORTS: Tonight’s the annual Dupont High Heel Race! The group assembles at 8 p.m., with the race going off at 9. The start line is at JR’s at 17th and Church, with the finish line at 17th and Riggs. If you hope to get a decent spot to view the race, get to 17th Street by 6:30 at the very latest. And don’t forget to bundle up.
HAPPY HOUR: Beer lovers should head directly to Alexandria’s Rustico for their annual Don’t Hassle the HofBrau Fest, an evening dedicated to drinking excellent beer from Munich’s HofBrau brewery (and getting classy beer steins to take home), and celebrating David Hasselhoff, the living legend. Costumes based on “Knight Rider” or “Baywatch” characters strongly encouraged. Starts at 6 p.m.
SPORTS: It’s been a while since Asylum hosted one of its famous ladies-only Jell-O Wrestling Contests. Tonight’s main event will feature women wrestling in Jell-O while wearing Halloween costumes. We’re pretty sure the contest is closed to any more participants (though you can try to beg your way in by emailing asylum @ asylumdc.com), but spectators are welcome for a $15 cover charge. 8 p.m.
LECTURE: Physics Nobel Prize winner Frank Wilczek will be at the Navy Memorial at 6:45 p.m. giving a lecture and book-signing for Unifying the Forces of Nature. The professor and scientist will discuss “why he believes we are on the cusp of a new Golden Age of physics and a unifying theory of the forces of nature.” $20; call 202-633-3030 for more info.
