No doubt most of you recently got your polling information in the mail along with your voter guide. Just in case, here is your one-stop linkage to everything you need to know about where and when to be on election day tomorrow.
Washington, D.C.: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A handy polling place finder is here, just plug in your address or precinct number. You can also read online voter guides and sample ballots. Should you encounter any issues tomorrow, the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics number is 202-727-2525.
Virginia: Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find out where to vote and who you can vote for at their special 2008 Election web site. The number for the Virginia State Board of Elections is 804-864-8901 or 800-552-9745. They also have a downloadable widget for those of you counting the seconds until this election is finally over.
Maryland: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 pm. Maryland has your polling places listed here along with an online demonstration of the touch-screens used in the voting process, and even a page debunking rumors. The Maryland State Board of Elections can be reached at 410-269-2840 or 800-222-8683.
Lines are typically shorter between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., though only relatively speaking, as you’re likely to encounter some kind of wait all day. So what! Bring a book, your iPod, and remember that no matter who you’re voting for, no one has actually won anything until those votes are counted Tuesday night. And not to freak out the GOTV-ers too much, but you’ll also want to dress warm and bring an umbrella.
When you’re done, send your stories to us and let us know how it’s going out where you are. Don’t forget to get your sticker and go grab some freebies when you’re done.
