  • The latest word is that special editions of the Washington Post won’t be delivered until closer to 7 p.m. in some locations, though they have been delivered already to others. Decide if you really want to wait in line that long before you go.
  • City Desk’s Mike DeBonis has a good rundown of local election winners and losers. Of note: ANC 2C has wrested control away from the notorious Leroy Thorpe, thanks to Kevin Chapple’s re-election victory in 2C02 and challenger Theresa Sule’s win over Thorpe ally Barbara Curtis in 2C04.
  • Marc Fisher warns that Dems in Virginia shouldn’t take Mark Warner’s (or Barack Obama’s?) big victories in their state for granted: the next governor’s race is no sure thing.
  • D.C. Wire has Carol Schwartz’s concession statement: it’s got to be a bit of a letdown to longtime Carol supporters who might have wanted something more substantive to mark the end of such a long career in public service. Then again, Carol’s gone away and come back before. We imagine we could see her again in a couple of years.
  • We Love DC suggests strolling over to the Newseum to get a look at the front pages of newspapers in person.
  • WTOP reports that the change in administration probably means a net gain of new D.C. area residents.
