MOVIE: The D.C. Film Society has put together a special event for those of us who love trailers almost as much as we love films: a selection of over 30 recent trailers in one screening session, including Bride Wars, Revolutionary Road, Underworld 3, Seven Pounds, and many more. At the Landmark E Street Cinema, $8 ($5 for members), 7 p.m.

DJ: Influential Philly DJ and M.I.A. collaborator Diplo is at the Black Cat along with a rather long list of special guests, including No Age, Abe Vigoda, Boy 8 Bit and Telepathe. $15, 7:30 p.m.

MUSIC: Rose Hill Drive bring their 1970s inspired rock ‘n’ roll to DC9, $12, 8:30 p.m. With Colour Revolt.

TALK: The hottest ticket for tonight may be the Behind the Scenes of the 2008 Presidential Election panel discussion at the Freer Gallery’s Meyer Auditorium. Obama pollster Cornell Belcher, DNC Chair Howard Dean, McCain staffer Frank Donatelli, Hillary Clinton strategist Geoffrey Garin, and Romney press secretary Kevin Madden will all be on hand for a postmortem on this year’s historic election, moderated by U.S. News & World Report White House correspondent Kenneth Walsh. Tickets sold out early, but if you’re desperate to go, we might suggest hanging around outside to see if anyone’s trying to get rid of an extra. 6:45 p.m.

MUSIC: Seems like it’s been a while since (The Sounds of) Kaleidoscope played back in D.C. The bluzzy garage rockers make the drive down from Philly to visit the Velvet Lounge with friends Gildon Works, plus locals The Tennis System and New York’s Queening. 9:30 p.m., $8.

MUSIC: Oh yeah, and some band called Smashing Pumpkins are playing at DAR. But apparently no one cares, because the show isn’t even sold out. You can still get some for $58.50 a piece. 8 p.m.
