- Straight from the City Desk liveblog: the D.C. Council has voted to approve Peter Nickles as the District’s Attorney General. The close vote, however, foreshadows a lot of tough Mayor vs. Council battles to come next year when Carol Schwartz is replaced by Michael A. Brown. More on all of this tomorrow!
- Oh yeah, and the Council dealt with other, non-AG business today, too. D.C. Wire says they approved $50 million for the Housing Production Trust Fund Stabilization Act , which stabilizes funding for the city’s first-time home-buyers program, in a first vote.
- A construction worker died today after he apparently slipped and fell while installing a window in a George Washington University residence hall under construction in the 2100 block of F Street NW, reports the Post.
- The 9th Street Bridge is now closed for the next year.
- WTOP asks whether your car is ready for winter, which reminds me of one more reason I’m glad I no longer have a car. Have fun scraping that ice off your windows, suckers.
